چکیده

TOPIC: Cardiovascular Disease TYPE: Original Investigations PURPOSE: Data describing in-hospital course of patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) in LIVER transplant are limited. We aimed primarily to compare the risk inpatient mortality between and without liver (LT). Secondary outcomes included kidney injury, heart failure, cardiogenic shock, ventricular arrhythmias, cardiac arrest, post-operative stroke. METHODS: conducted a cohort study utilizing National Inpatient Sample (NIS) database 2017. Clinical entities were identified using appropriate international classification diseases, 10th revision. Descriptive, comparative, inferential statistics presented. To account for imbalances baseline characteristics, multivariable logistic regression models used explore associations. Alpha (p) < 0.05 was ascertain statistical significance. RESULTS: A total 132,418 cases AMI identified; them, 0.1% had LT (n=85). Female gender more prevalent group (38% vs 25%, p=0.006). Racial differences comparable two groups. Roughly, 48% 50% non-LT received PCI (p=0.7). Prevalence hypertension, old MI, obesity, smoking, alcohol indifferent both groups, while diabetes mellitus (73% 41% non-LT, p<0.001) chronic disease (66% 24% non-LT) higher group, hyperlipidemia (67% 52%, p<0.001). Acute injury (AKI), as complication, (43% 20%, p<0.001), arrest (3% groups), decompensated failure (9% 8% shock (8% 6% non-LT), arrythmias (7% 8.4% stroke (0% 5% (p>0.05) Even after adjusting above-mentioned potential confounders model, not associated (OR 1.7, 95% CI 0.739-3.946, p=0.21). an independent factor AKI 1.072-2.625, p=0.024) several confounding factors. CONCLUSIONS: prevalence factors differed significantly non-transplant patients. Incidences short-term complications AMI, except AKI, seem indifferent. CLINICAL IMPLICATIONS: Patients have generally transplant. Further studies needed investigate increased AKI.
